Roy Grace, aka BOHNTR here at MonsterMuleys.com, writes, "Well, here's the start of the 05 season. I hunted 2 weeks (counting scouting time) after a nice 180" class buck and almost connected several times. But it wasn't meant to be. I had seen a freak looking buck we called "Cyclops", limping around the area all week. He had a unique raghorn elk like (3 point) configuration on the one side and a long 12" spike with base cheaters on the other. So, two hours before we packed up and left, I hiked into the area he frequented and let the air out of him with an arrow. Good thing I did, as his teeth were completely worn and he wasn't hiking too well. Doubt he would have made it through the winter.
On a more positive note, my hunting partner brought his 14 years old son, Travis, on his first mule deer trip. Can you believe he arrowed a 27" 4x4 that will net score in the low 150's! A P&Y mule deer for your first deer. Doesn't get any better than that for a youngster."
