Timothy Brady writes, "Well, this was my 5th year hunting muleys in Colorado. It was 3rd season, and the first snow had just really fallen. We had hiked back into an area that we thought would produce some good bucks, but sat there for about 2 hours. My friend and I decided to go to another area. While we were driving up the mountain, we spotted this buck with some does in a draw across the valley. I decided to grab my gun and gear and race down the draw and up to a ridge where I had a good vantage point of their movement. The deer started heading back up the draw when they got wind of me. So, I set up on the spot I knew they would come out, and waited for the buck to show. He was just starting to run when he came out of the trees. I took him at about 175 yards with my Ruger .270 Mark II. One shot and he came down 12 steps later. My first buck!!! It was truly a great moment."
