Cory McCubbin writes, "Phil (right) and I harvested this 4 point three days before the season ended. The buck came running at us to about 50 yards. We tried to get him to stop, but had no luck. Phil decided that he wanted to try to shoot him on the run, but by this time the buck was about 70 yards nearing the pine patch. Phil popped off one shot hitting a tree right in front of him. The buck then knew he was busted and froze. Phil reloaded and with one more shot the buck went down and Phil's hunt came to an end. We don't encounter many bucks like this on public land in northern Utah, so when we do it is something really special."
