Tom Skidgel writes, "My daughter and I took my father-in-law and nephew out to meet a friend in their cow elk area for a quick afternoon hunt.
Not really looking for deer, but finding one anyway, I told my buddy I would have to come out the next day with a muzzleloader to go after that deer.
To my surprise however, my buddy, Rhett, told me that he had his black powder gun with him in his truck. Well, to make a long story short, I took off after the deer, and Rhett took the elk hunters hunting. I chased the deer for about 2 hours, and in the process, I pushed a herd of elk to the other guys.
I made a 150 yard shot and found him by dark.
My 10 year old daughter loves going hunting with me, and she can't wait until she can hunt when she turns 12.
The buck scored 176 and is 27 inches wide. My first buck ever with a muzzleloader."
