Lynnette writes, "Justin got his 27" wide mule deer in eastern Montana, on public land, with his Remington .35 Whelen. He, his brother, and their dad spent a week in eastern Montana and they each got a nice buck. Best of all, they got to spend some good quality time together, which doesn't happen often enough, and they had a great time. Sorry Justin isn't smiling in the picture, he was trying to explain to his dad how to run the camera!
I got my buck in northeastern Montana right on the Milk River, on private land. This is only the second time I have hunted whitetail in my life, now I'm two for two! My first was over 15 years ago. The game warden at the check station measured his inside width at 15.25", with a main beam length of 18". Aged at 2 years old, they said he had a huge body and very nice rack for a 2 year old. I used my new Ruger 7mm-08 that Justin got me this year for our anniversary. I was so thrilled when I got him I couldn't stop smiling! He's not a big buck, but I think he's gorgeous, a real trophy for me - I'm tickled pink!"
