Shane McAffee writes, "It may have been because of the hard winter before, but we were not seeing too many bucks, and the ones we saw were all small. The unit we were in had roads everywhere and it seemed that there were endless streams of trucks driving down every ridge. I found an area on a map without a road and hiked in one afternoon.

I jumped a nice buck and while looking for him I found this buck bedded down. I shot him through both shoulders and he still went about 50 yards. The pack out was worth it. Thanks to Wayne for the help and he also got a nice buck on the same hunt."
