"Kent's Whopper Saskatchewan Archery Buck"
Photo provided by: Kent Silzer

Kent Silzer writes, "I harvested this big guy in Saskatchewan with my bow on Sept. 13 this year about a half mile from where I took my mule deer last year. I spotted him bedded out in a wide open pasture on the side of a hill with a smaller buck. After a fairly quick stalk, I closed the distance from about 3/4 of a mile down to just over 30 yards. That's when the waiting began. With no cover except ankle tall grass, I laid on the hill with my face flat on the ground over looking him bedded for about 45 minutes. I was trying to figure out how I was going to get the shot off with no cover, when all of a sudden he gave the perfect opportunity. With my arrow already knocked and my release clicked on, I sat up and took the shot. The rest is just great memories. He gross scores 190 typical and nets 183-5/8."
