Art Espinosa writes, "Here is a picture of my 14 year old son, Steve, with his 1st Colorado buck mule deer (4x4 with about 27 spread). He & I (dad) drew limited buck tags and as the season approached we spent a few weekends scouting. We did not see this guy, but managed to encounter a few other bucks. As opening morning approached, I told Steve that he could have 1st shot at whatever we saw. Well, at approx. 7:15am on opening morning he spotted about ten does and two small bucks about 150 yards away. As we setup to take one of the small bucks, Steve pointed out that there was another deer hanging back at the bottom by himself. As we glassed this deer, I knew right away he was the big boy of the group. Steve made a great shot from about 200 yards and down he went. It was an excellent hunt for a kids 1st time."
