Brandon O'Keefe writes, "Here is a great buck my grandfather (Russ) took on opening morning of 3rd season here in Colorado. He is not a horn hunter, but always seems to find himself taking nice bucks. We were actually watching three 2-point bucks at first light, but could not close the deal. I told him that I would take him to another area before the morning hunt was over. After glassing for about 5 minutes, I spotted his buck and a couple smaller ones. Being that he is 69 yrs old, he just can't hike as well as he once did, he almost gave up after starting up the ridge after them. But, I told him to take his time, the deer aren't going anywhere, and if they do at least we had a downhill walk to the truck. We finally were able to get about 85 yards from the deer, and after catching his breath, one shot from his .308 did the trick. After he shot, the deer went everywhere, and as the story goes you should've seen the one that came busting out of the scrub oak!!"
