Craig Eckstein writes, I went to southern Wyoming on my annual trip there, and took a friend of mine, Alan Keane, who lives in VA with me. He had never been west of West Virginia, so it was fun showing him the West. He saw his first antelope, saw the Rockies for the 1st time, and of course saw his first muley. In fact, he shot the first muley he saw, a fine 5x6! We watched this buck as the sun set the night before the opener, and Alan had him on the ground before 8am on opening day. The most enjoyable part of the trip for me was watching Alan react to the deer as he approached it. A tough guy with tears in his eyes! A very nice first muley!

I was also fortunate to connect on a nice 7x8 on the next-to-last day. Alan and I hunted in the rain and located this buck 2 ridges away, laying in his bed. We stalked to the next ridge, and got as close as we could. Alan ranged it at 357 yards for me. The 7mm hit its mark and the buck just rolled over in his bed. Lucky shot!
