Scott Wheaton writes, "I was lucky enough to watch this guy on the summer range for a couple weeks, then 2 weeks before the season opened, he disappeared for 3 weeks. I found him again 3 miles away from his last position. I got to within 40 yards of him bedded. He got up and I missed him twice, both times hitting sagebrush tips....talk about a bummer! Lost him again for 2 more weeks. Right when I was about to throw in the towel, I found him 10 miles away from where I shot at him. I was extremely lucky to locate him feeding in a stalkable area, but by the time I got up to him he was in the open country he called home, as you can see by the pics. I hooked around in front of him and waited for some kind of opportunity. He fed right towards me at 56 yards, which is where he met my arrow. No doubt the most mentally demanding and physically challenging hunt I have ever had."
