Rob Winn, aka elks96, shared with us all in our mule deer forum the fine success that his dad had in Colorado.
Rob wrote, "So dad got it done opening day. We saw a lot of deer (not as many as we used to see). Our count for the day was 117 deer seen, and 33 were bucks. Dad is pretty happy as this is the best buck I can ever remember him taking.
Shot was 256 yards straight up hill at last light. He is not the biggest buck in the unit, but he was a good mature buck, probably 5-6 years old. Big body, thick neck, etc. Someday I will cash in my points and get to hunt a decent CO unit!!!"
