Zach Stafford writes, "I just came back from a Mule Deer hunt in Montana. The trip was a blast, and I was fortunate enough to harvest a beautiful non-typical Mule Deer. Not only was I able to harvest my biggest buck to date; but my dad was by my side just along for the fun, which made it even more special. This buck weighed just over 315 pounds, and gross scored 182-5/8". I shot him at 162 yards with my 300 WSM. This was a DIY hunt, and we definitely put on some rugged miles through the coulees, meadows & mountains that Montana has to offer. What made this hunt fun was that the rut was in full swing, the bucks were all swollen up & chasing does up & down the mountains; it was just a blast watching the deer in their natural habitat. In 3 days, we seen well over 100 deer. This will go down as the most memorable hunt for me!"
