Hayden Humphreys had a tough time turning up elk during his preseason scouting, but about halfway through his hunt he found a new spot and bulls.

Hayden writes, "First day sittin in the stand the bulls started buglin and I could tell one was a lot more mature than anything we had heard. With a half hour left of daylight my dad and I took off on foot and started cow calling towards them. As I got closer the two bulls were getting more and more aggressive and eventually they came runnin down through the pines to me. This boy was nine yards from me when I barked at him to stop and sunk an arrow into him. Next morning we came in with the horses, found him, and had a long day packin him out. This is what hunting is about."
