This nice mule deer was harvested by Whitney Brown on November 29, 2001. Whitney and his brother, Les, were driving to a brushy draw that is often used as a bedding area when this brute, along with several does, emerged from a small ravine. The deer were out of the range of the steel sights on Whitney's lever action Winchester, but they were following a familiar escape route. Knowledge of this escape route enabled Whitney to ambush the deer as they made their way to the other end of the pasture. The deer grossed 174 7/8 and netted 171 0/8 on the B&C scale.
