"Jesse's First Bull"
Photo provided by: Jesse Yaksich

Jesse Yaksich writes, "This was the last day of my first archery draw in the state of New Mexico. I killed this bull early Thursday morning, but fell down the day before and broke my sights. I bought a new sight on Wednesday night and sighted my bow in with my head lights the night before. On Thursday we arrived at the hunting site and walked about 1/2 mile when my hunting partner heard a bugle. We set up and my partner began cow calling. The bull began getting closer and the ole adrenal was flowing like crazy. I had the bull at 20 yards broadside and he gave me the shot of a lifetime and I froze. As the bull began walking and getting closer, I some how snapped and let one go at 12 yards. It was a direct hit, the arrow slammed him right behind the shoulder. The bull gasped for air took 4 steps and crashed down. He's a nice 6x6.
My buddy and I worked together and carried him out in 9-1/2 hours. I shot him with a 100 grain rocket expandable tip with carbon express 300 arrows. I shoot a parker bow and my new toxonics sight. When I got home, my daughter was so excited that we had to take this picture together. What a hunt. It doesnt get any better than this. A picture is worth a thousand words."
