After 13 years, Darin Manly finally drew an elk tag in Nevada, and with the help of friend, Jeremy Fry, was able to down a big boy.
Darin writes, "Jeremy and I spent a week before opening day scouting in the Jarbidge Wilderness area of Nevada's remote wilderness looking for bulls. We were spotting several bulls per day and on opening day 2010 were able to spot and stalk a small group of bulls. After a 6 hour stalk on a bedding area of 4 nice bulls, this bull stood up in his bed only to get stuck with a 100 grain tipped ACC arrow. The bull went down a steep draw before bleeding out and being tagged. It was a great hunt and after 13 years of waiting was finally over. It gross scores 314 and nets 303. It was a hunt of a lifetime with many great memories. Special thanks to Jeremy and a lifetime memory of my first elk ever and with a bow at that. Jeremy would later fill his tag with a 375 bull of his own in the same hunt."
