Coulter Winter writes, "I'm 11 years old and I got my first buck on public land with a general deer tag in Eastern Washington. We got up early opening morning and sneaked to the first opening we saw. We had no luck there, so we snuck to another one that was bigger than the first opening. Right away my Dads buddy spots the deer at 300 yards. I could't see him for awhile, but when I saw him I slowly laid down and used a pack to keep the rifle off the ground. I spotted the buck through my scope and about 10 minutes later the buck gave me a good broadside shot. I shot it with a 6mm 100 grain Remington core lock. I have never felt so excited in my life. My buck is a 4x5 and is 25 inches wide. My first hunt was very exciting and fun with my family and friends."
