Nate Krohn writes, "I harvested this nice black bear in October, 2005 near Okanogan, Washington. I spotted him in a clear cut and snuck within 60 yards before making the shot. My Winchester Muzzleloader with 348 grain Powerbelt to the broiler room did the trick. He went about 100 yards before expiring. It was the last day of a four day hunt with my dad, and he ended up being the only meat we brought out of the woods. The jerky was excellent!!! I scouted the area earlier in the spring and saw lots of bear sign, although I was really in the area on this trip because of I pulled six 4 point muley sheds off the ridge above the clear cut. WDFW determined the boar to be 4 1/2 years old according to the premolar teeth I sent in."
