"Big Washington Bear"
Photo provided by: Joe Rotter

Joe (aka flyguide) from MonsterMuleys.com, sent in these photos along with his story. Joe writes, "I shot this Cinamon bear last week during mid August in some Central Washington high country. It weighed about 200 pounds and has a perfect coat with no rub marks. We were walking up and old spur road in a dense clear cut when I looked over and thought I caught a glimpse of a cow elk. A closer look showed that it was my bear walking up the far side of a small draw. I only had a few seconds so I raised up and shot about 200 yards off-hand as the bear was making an escape. He was turned broadside and paused on the top of a big log.

My buddy Aaron stayed back and spotted for me so that I could locate exactly where he was. I found blood on the log and followed it for about 50 feet and there he was, piled up in the Huckleberry brush. He is a great bear and I am really happy. The first shot turned out to be perfect and he went down fast. What a great start to the 2007 season."

Congratulations Joe!
