"Mike's B.C. Trophy Buck Sheds"
Photo provided by: Mike Burns

Mike Burns writes, "These are the mule deer sheds I found this spring 2005 in Northern British Columbia. They are form a 185 class typical buck with a 6.5 inch drop tine. The smallest point between the burr and brow tines is 5 7/8 inches on each side, and the brow tines are 4 inches each. The antlers carry good mass all the way up.

I found them about 800 yards apart in different stands of willows. I found the right side first, and looked for the left in the same area for an hour. I wasn't having any luck, so I continued down the bluff in search of more sheds. I entered the willows on a well used deer trail. The trail quickly became over grown and I had to drop down to my knees so my pack could clear the low branches. I crawled ahead a few feet and was staring at a huge shed. I couldn't believe when I grabbed it that it was the match to the one I already had. They are both in excellent condition and are the best matched mule deer set that I have found to date."
