When Tom Grove first laid eyes on this buck, three days before the 2000 Colorado opener, he felt very lucky just to have had the opportunity to view such a beautiful animal. You can imagine the excitement he felt when he harvested the buck on opening day. Tom had nicknamed the buck "Lefty", because of the 3-inch cheater the buck had on his left antler. Unfortunately, between the time Tom first saw the buck and when he shot him, the cheater had broken off. Regardless, the buck is an exceptional animal and definitely a keeper.
