Brian Elling writes, "The 6th morning of the hunt arrived and only a a small buck and 4 does had been seen so far. I knew it is a tough unit but fewer deer than normal were around. I originally planned on waiting for a big buck, I started to rethink that idea though. That morning I jumped two bucks, one was a monster, with a 30 yard running shot through the open timber I missed! Couldn't believe it, I tracked him and then started over just to make sure it was a miss. Feeling like crap, I hiked over to a new area I had sat in before. Right at sunset I was getting my pack ready to head back to camp and this big boy come trotting out. An easy open shot at 25 yards would have finished him, but since he was on his feet, I put two more into him.
Mass is tremendous on this guy, he is my heaviest buck to date!"
