Jeremy writes, "My buddy and I went to the "Bab" for the opening week of the archery season and had a great time. My buddy, (dark hair) shot his 4 x 4 buck about 1 1/2 hrs into the opening morning hunt at 30 yds. This being his first mule deer hunt with a bow he was pretty excited to connect with a good buck and so early in the hunt. Now while taking a buck anytime is a great experience, he now had to fill the remaining 8 days of the hunt with cooking, dish washing, wood cutting, etc. Not to bad of a deal for me.
I passed on some small Forky's and Three points during the week and by Friday I was starting to regret the decision to pass on the little bucks. I hunted hard Friday and finally at around 3:45, I arrowed this buck at about 25 yards. He was piled up about 200 yds down the draw. From all the input at the taxidermist and friends, we’re estimating he will measure out between 170 and 180 inches. He has a perfect 4 x 4 frame with 2 1/2 inch eye guards, 6 inch bases, and a 25 1/2 inch inside spread. The mass is throughout the rack and he had just shed most of his velvet
