John McGannon, of Wildeats Enterprises, sent us this photo of the dandy buck that his buddy, Tony Naples, took in northern California.
John writes, "It's a very heavy 3x3 with good eye-guards. Outside spread is 27-1/2 inches. It was shot on a late season hunt in northern California. We had a great season last year and weren't expecting too much considering the weather was in the high 80's when we started the season. Slowly but surely, we were able to capitalize on several good bucks. As a group we went 9 for 14 with Tony's buck being the largest. Tony has hunted blacktail deer his whole life and was besides himself when he walked up of this buck after making a very impressive 172 yard shot which dropped the huge buck in its tracks. After a very dicey pack out on an atv, it was all high fives back at camp. Great Buck Tony!"
