Mark Ekins writes, "I spotted this buck several weeks prior to the opening. Not once was I able to view his entire body during my scouting trips. He always seemed to stay in thick oak brush and mahogany. The last time I viewed him in the field was two days prior to the opening. I wasn't able to hunt the first week of the hunt, so you could image the anxiety attacks that I was having. One week into the hunt I went after him. I spotted him again at sun up!! Once again in the thick oak brush, I was discouraged at even attempting a stalk. Then, completely surprising to me, he fed out of the thicket! He came 350 yards thru open country, and was heading for a pass. To end the story here, I got there first!!!!! Best buck of my life....."
