Collin Sherick writes, "Here is a photo of a nice muley that was taken on the morning of October 18th, 2009. The hunt took place outside the small town of Alice, Colorado. Earlier in the week we hiked into the backcountry and had spotted a lot of sign in and around this particular area. My buddy, Dave, and I had spooked up quite a bit of elk and small does, so we knew we were in the area we needed to be. We finally came across a perfect setup which consisted of a nice rolling quaky field that had multiple shelves going down the draw. We found a small natural spring that was heavily trampled and we made the decision to setup about a 100 yards above it. It didn't take long and as soon as the sun came up, two nice deer came down the draw. The easy part was finding the deer; the hard part was finding the shot. There was little room for error and it took a whole lot of patience to wait until there was an acceptable shot. It was a spectacular morning in Colorado and ended with a beautiful deer in the pack. We quartered up the meat and began the long hike back to the truck."
