Brian Green writes, "After several years of putting in for an elk tag, 2009 was finally the year, and well worth the wait. On the 5th day of the hunt, we spotted 6 bulls from miles away and decided that a couple of them needed a closer look. I took off hiking after they bedded down and after a 4 mile hike up to them, I was finally there. I could see a small raghorn bedded down and after about 45 minutes this one stood up just to the left of the little one. I definitely knew this was the one I wanted, but didn't have a clear shot and after about 5 minutes of watching him he finally moved out into the clear.
The pack out wasn't so easy. We could only get the ranger within 3 miles of him, so needless to say after a 6 mile round trip (7.5 hours) he was finally off the mountain. I would like to thank Steve, Worth, Pete, Jesse, and Jalin for helping pack this beast out."
