Kyson writes, "As I served as a missionary for two years, it killed me not to be able to hunt deer. I itched for those cold brisk fall mornings dressed in orange with the family. Opening morning came and it was brisk. The first group of trees this buck came out...I missed him at about 400 yards. We headed to the next group of trees to see if he went in there. Within about 5 minutes of being in there I caught this buck, the one that I missed, running right at me. As I pulled up I realized that my scope was on high...I couldn't find him. I turned it down and found hair and pulled the trigger. He came to a crashing stop. Most people talk about ground shrinkage, but this buck was so close I knew how big he was. He is a 5x5 with a 9-inch kicker on the right side and a 3-inch kicker on the left. He's about 26-3/4 wide and about 23 tall. Unofficial net non-typical is 182. Later that day we killed another buck that was a 30-inch 4 point. What an opening day of the hunt!"
