"Nice Muzzleloader Muley for Terry"
Photo provided by: Shane Todd

Shane Todd writes, "My dad (Terry) took this mule deer on a traditional muzzleloader hunt near Capitan, New Mexico. It was very windy and we had just checked a stock tank where we found some buck tracks. We decided to head in the direction of the track to see if we could spot the bucks. As we topped a small hill we split up trying to see in the bottom. I located two bucks standing in the bottom feeding. I got dad and he made a 20 yard stalk. He shot and hit the buck in the front shoulder as it was quartering towards him. After reloading, we went to where the buck was standing when he shot. We were looking for blood and I looked up and saw the deers tines sticking out of the grass 15 yards from where he had been shot."
