"Shalene's Sweet Nebraska Muley"
Photo provided by: Justin Bright

Justin Bright writes, "My wife, Shalane, shot this deer opening morning of Nebraska general rifle season. I saw this guy a week before and I hoped that he would be there for my wife to shoot him. We came up with a plan to leave the house very early in the mourning and walk out to the box blind that I built two years ago. Every thing was just right. The wind was blowing in the perfect direction, it wasn't very cold, and there were all kinds of animals moving around that morning. Just a few short hours in the blind and we saw the does begin to come out of the trees. They kept looking behind them, so I knew that there had to be a buck back there. Sure enough the guy that I had seen the week prior steps out and starts chasing the does around. He finally stopped broad side 110 yards away and my wife made the most deadly shot that I have ever seen bring down a deer. She double lunged and broke his spine in half with her 7mm-08. He dropped like a ton of bricks right in his tracks. This guy does not have a ton of points, but he measures 26 inches wide and has some insanely huge bases with sweet brow tines."
