Ty had the luck in 2002 and drew a controlled elk tag for a unit in Idaho.
Ty writes, "My dad and I had started up the mountain just before daylight. We hiked for about two hours until I spotted this huge 7x7 bull elk about 200 yards from the ridge. It never even knew we were there. I told my dad not to move and pulled up my gun. I shot it at just under 65 yards in the lungs and it fell right there. We had a fun time dragging, or rather rolling, this monster down the mountain. The bull scores 324."
