David Eggett, aka bowhunter223, writes, "Good friends, Roger & Tom, had spotted this mountain monster a couple weeks before the opener. I had then spotted him again on friday night before the opener out feeding in the same area. Well, Saturday morning came and went and after not being able to get on him that morning, but seeing him head back up into his high country bedding area, we had hopes that he would continue his evening feeding pattern that night. Due to some prior commitments, Roger & Tom had to come off the mountain for the evening hunt. So I decided to continue hunting and try to make a play on this great buck. 2 hours later found me high up the mountain at his dinner table meadow, waiting...hoping he would feed back out at dark like he had been doing. Well...as luck would have it, he did and the Hoyt and I were waiting.
15 yard broadside shot and the rest is history. He was on the ground within 60 seconds and only went about 20 yards.
With a solid 29" frame and 3" kicker his outside spread went to 32". Combined with 42" of mass, he grossed 194". Buck of a lifetime for me on a general area! Many thanks to good friends for finding this great buck & making it possible for one of us to get in on him."
