"Darrens High Plains Speedgoat"
Photo provided by: Darren Simmons

Darren Simmons writes, "After five fruitless days of sitting in my Double Bull blind waiting for a mature buck to charge my decoy, I switched tactics and weapon. I traded my PSE for Ole' Reliable, my Weatherby Accumark in .308 and spent the better part of a day stalking this great majestic beast before putting him down a half hour before sunset.
He is great looking mature buck that I had spotted during the bow season part of my hunt and then spent a day crawling about the High Plains of Colony, WY with a rifle before he offered me a 146 yard quartering away shot. This buck has what any hunter wants in a trophy, he has battle scars on the bridge of his nose consisting of horn remnants of vanquished foes, his horns are scarred from combat and his right ear has a chunk missing, bearing witness to his will to live. To quote the Nug, "The beast is dead, long live the beast"."
