Darin Powell sent us this photo of Ryder's first buck.
Darin writes, "The 3rd season in Colorado started out with temperatures in the 60's and 70's. The first two days (Saturday and Sunday), we saw a total of two bucks that were not on private property. Monday afternoon and night it rained/snowed, which helped out some: it got the animals moving some, but not much. Tuesday morning, Ryder and his father put a stalk on a small group of bucks, and, fortunately, a shot through the juniper was not to be had. These bucks were spikes and forks. On the way out, I spotted this buck as he was laid up under a juniper. One well placed shot by Ryder from his .25-06 did the job. The 3x4 stretched the tape to 26-1/2". It was a big bodied buck, and I would estimate he was 225-250 lbs. dressed."
