A friend of mine, my step father and I had setup on some cliffs overlooking the valley and lake below us. We sat down and started glassing the valley. I spotted 4 elk swiming across the lake. My friend, JR, spotted about 7 elk running on the other side of the lake, about 2 miles away. We knew the roads and both sets of elk were heading towards a road, so we jumped in the truck and went after the 7 elk. We got infront of them and JR and I ran about 500 yards crouching and got in front of the elk. A 3x4 ran right to us. My friend had hunted this area and said that this might be my only shot. I passed. Then I spotted the other 6. We crawled 60 yards to get a shot. I was about to shoot a 6x6 when this one stepped out. His main beam length is 53 1/4 on the left and 56 7/8 on the right. That is the biggist rush I have ever had! It was awesome!
