Here's a big buck that Ernie Giudice took while hunting in eastern Colorado.
Ernie writes, "We spotted the buck as he was moving off a wheat field that was approximately 2 miles away. We knew the instant we say him, that he was one of the bucks we had been looking for.
We spent the next several hours making our way to the last location we saw the buck, stopping often to glass and wait out other deer as they moved to their bedding area.
We finally located the buck in an overgrown hedgerow and we were able to stalk to within 300 yards of him without alerting the does he had with him. I rested my 30.06 on my shooting sticks and made a good hit. The buck went down and the celebration began.
This was a classic spot and stalk hunt with some great moments of anticipation and calculations required to get within shooting distance."
