Roy Nelson writes, "This was my first buck in about 20 years. I took him just out of Prairie City, Oregon in the Northside unit. For those who are familiar with the area, he was in the Wikiup Springs portion of the unit. We had scouted for a week ahead of season, but had only seen a few bucks. Opening morning came along and wouldn't you know...NO DEER! We hunted hard for three days before my partner got a smaller three point, so we figured ok at least we weren't skunked. On the morning of the forth, I took off for a little walk when I saw a small forked horn, but before I could get a shot at him he took off. At the same time this big ole three by four walked out. I wasted no time. I drew down and hit him right behind the shoulder. Lung shot! Boy was I surprised when I found him about fifty yards away. He was BIG! Here are a couple pics! Enjoy!
