Gentry Distefano writes, "After putting in for the Monroe Mountain elk hunt for years, my uncle (Shawn) changed to the Book Cliffs and drew out this year. We saw a lot of great bulls and bucks, but were lucky enough to get this bull at 35 yards.

We rode the ridge on our horses until we heard a bugle come from below, then we tied up the horses and ran into the thick timber to head off the heard. There was a smaller 7 point and a nice 6 point that were fighting right in front of my uncle and our guide, Steve Carter, when they got into position in the trees. Shawn almost shot the 6 point when Steve told him that it wasn't the heard bull, right then here came this 7x8 bull. He stood broadside at 35 yards and within 10 seconds he was down. He officially scored in at 373 and 1/2. What an exciting hunt in the Book Cliffs. Thanks to everyone involved."
