George Torres writes, "It took 22 years for me to draw this coveted tag, and I finally got to go after one of Africa’s largest antelope. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity.
The day started out fairly nice, but soon deteriorated into pouring down rain. The rain turned the desert floor into an unforgiving goo that could swallow even the best 4x4 truck and kept all of the oryx bedded down. I passed on a herd of about 8 to 10 smaller oryx holding out for a trophy.
By 2:30 pm the rain eased up and once again the oryx were on the move. I shot this bull after he crossed the road in front of my truck and it took four 130 grain bullets from my trusty .270 to put him down for keeps, I felt like I was trying to stop a tank with a BB gun!
He's mature bull with 33-3/4 inch horns & 7-1/2 inch bases."
