Teryn Neuer writes, "My husband and I have been hunting together for 8 years and he's always been the shooter, but this year I drew out in unit 31 in New Mexico and got a beautiful buck. We got him on the fourth day of the hunt, after dealing with bad weather for the first 3 days. It was a beautiful cool morning (perfect for deer hunting), right after sun up. We were coming down a hill, this same area we had been scouting for weeks, knew there was a big buck in there, because we had seen him there. So we stuck to this area, hoping it would pay off. As we came down that hill, I looked to my right and told my husband excitedly, "there's a deer, and it's a BUCK!!" I checked the yardage on him and it read 284, and then the nerves set in. I didn’t think I would be able to get that shot. But I got lined up and with my husbands help, took a shot, and down he went! It's such an awesome feeling when you work so hard. All the years of scouting and hunting, I finally got my beautiful muley buck! I fell in love with hunting because my husband loved it so much and now this is something we do every year together!" |
