Proud and excited dad, Greg Peck, sent over these photos of the fantastic archery buck that his son, Rylan, scored on in Utah.
Greg writes, "Here is my sons first archery kill. He put in many hours of practice and scouting leading up to his hunt. After multiple stalks on good bucks, and over 36 miles on foot, it finally paid off on the evening of day 4. We spotted four bucks feeding in the sage and oak brush a few hundred yards out. Out of the four bucks, there were two that really stood out. I told him it was going to be tough getting on them, as there was very little cover. The stalk was on! As soon as he started through the sage, they busted him and took off out of sight from where I was glassing. I hurried back to the truck and drove to a higher vantage point. As soon as I got the scope set up, I seen the bucks running below me. I quickly notice one of the bigger bucks had separated from the others, and just as I put the scope on him I noticed a red patch right behind his shoulder. one second later I watched him pile up! I called my son on the radio, and he was so excited he couldn't talk. He had stayed on the bucks, and crawled 150 yards to the only tree in the area. Looking from behind the tree, he could only see one of the smaller bucks and ranged him at 76 yards. He decided he would step out from the tree and shoot whichever of the two bigger bucks gave him the best shot. He stepped out and zeroed in on the buck standing broadside, with a perfect double lung shot, and the rest is history. Nothing better than watching your boys have success hunting!"
