Matt Johnson writes, "It was a great hunt. Lots of deer and good buck numbers. Opening day was lots of fun. We passed up some bucks in anticipation of the monster we all dream of. On the 2nd day, again we saw some buks in the morning and let them go. In the late afternoon, my wife showed up at camp and she went on a road ride with myself and our children. It was great, my family never gets to see the action because I hike most of the time.
However, today was special. As we drove up the road we ran into a few does and some bucks. We past up the first group of deer and proceeded up the dusty road. I told my wife to stop the truck as I spotted a buck not to far off the road. After a short evaluation of the buck, I decided to let him go. That's when I saw another buck standing there. Looking like a nice buck, I fired. Two shots hit their mark. The entire family was present and we enjoyed it together. The buck is a 3x3 with an 18-inch spread. Not a monster, just a family trophy.
